About the song: "Sexy MF" was released in 1992 as the first single from Prince's "Love Symbol" album (which was originally self-titled, but the title was represented by an unpronounceable symbol). The music and most of the lyrics were composed by Prince, with Levi Seacer Jr. contributing the chorus and title, and Tony M. providing the rap.
Controversy: The explicit lyrics, particularly the repeated refrain "You sexy motherfucker", caused some controversy and led to edited versions for radio and the US version of the album.
